Why to protect Liver from injury ??
Liver is one of the largest organs in the body, weighing about 1.4 kg , sitting in the right upper abdomen of the body. Many important metabolic functions are carried out by this vital organ. It filters the blood coming from the digestive tract before passing it to the rest of the body, detoxifies chemicals and metabolizes drugs. The liver also makes proteins important for blood clotting and other functions. A healthy liver is much needed for a healthy life. In today’s era when there is no time to cook and we are mostly depended on packaged food, we don’t have enough time to go for walk and burn calories it becomes very important to take care of our liver which is completely responsible for removing all the toxins from our body, helping with digestion, creating energy from the food we eat, and working with the immune system to get rid of invaders that might make us sick.
A number of factors in our day to day life are there which may precipitate an injury to the liver and once developed the whole metabolism is disturbed. Although the liver can continue to function effectively despite being diseased, there is a point where the liver can no longer contend with its responsibilities. Before you reach that stage it’s important to keep a count on everything that in some or the other way may effect health of liver.
If at any point you notice symptoms like low energy, poor appetite, weight loss, or loss of muscle mass you need to get yourself checked. Slight infection or simply excess fat getting stored in the liver in the long run may lead to serious problems like yellowing of the eyes and skin, called jaundice, internal bleeding from large blood vessels in the esophagus, called bleeding varices; a buildup of fluid in the belly, called ascites, confusion from the buildup of toxins in the blood, called encephalopathy.
So, keep your liver healthy so that you don’t need to change it!!
