Nutrition: the essence of health in modern lifestyle

With time, urbanization has not only pushed the simple life out of the window, but it has also pushed us away from our ancient eating and drinking habits. As a result, our generation is now dealing with diabetes, obesity, heart disease, and other lifestyle disorders at a young age.

Let's have a look that where we're going wrong.

First, physical inactivity, long-sitting work, and excessive screen time

Second, excessive consumption of refined foods, such as refined flour (maida), sugar, refined oils, and so on.

Thirdly, we are so engrossed in our work that we have lost sight of balance between our personal and professional lives. People no longer have time to cook their own meals and dine in solitude; instead, they rely on fast food, ready-to-eat foods, and junk food, which are primarily high in empty calories.

Fourth, drinking and smoking to counteract the effects of a demanding job and a stressful lifestyle.

Uninvited nutritional deficiencies and lifestyle-related diseases are becoming more common as a result of these significant changes in food and work patterns in recent years. As a result, nutrition has become an important aspect of our modern way of life.

A healthy diet consists of macro and micronutrients that perform many important functions, such as promoting general body growth, lowering the danger of many severe diseases, and assisting in the maintenance of a healthy old age, all of which contribute to a healthy life span.

Deep down we all understand the importance of nutrition in our modern lifestyles, however, we choose to ignore it until diagnosed with a disease, or realize it much later in life when we face a number of issues including huge medical costs and medical bills. All we need is a push forward, let us take charge of our health and improve the quality of our lives by incorporating good nutrition and adopting well-balanced eating habits.
